Check out the wonderful work of teen "maker" Brittany, founder of The Better Scale, a site that helps you answer the question "Who Am I?" If you missed her at the faire, you can meet her at the Spring Festival this Sunday afternoon in Columbia.
I met an amazing teen today. Brittany is founder of www.thebetterscale.com What an amazing movement! I am so excited that she agreed to be a part of our event on May 1st. She passed out these stickers at the Greenbelt Makers Faire. It was beautiful to see so many adults and kids, wearing these stickers. -Erin, Roll Up N DyeErin and Brittany teaming up. It reminds me of the (somewhat socially incorrect) lyrics of Arlo Guthrie.,, where three people make it an organization and fifty people make it a movement. Can you imagine it?
Photo booth, kids' races, tie-dying, sidewalk chalk drawing, face painting and so much more. Rain or shine. Sunday, 12-6. See the link below for details. We had a great time at the faire working with Erin and learning about her tie dye activities as well as her greater cause, being "passionate about helping kids be honest about who they are, loving themselves and accepting that they have value." Check out her spring festival in Columbia MD, a fundraiser to form Colorful Abandon
The goal of Colorful Abandon is to expand kids’ and teens’ growth-mindsets and compassion for self and others. We are forming a new generation of team-oriented leaders! Tie dye arts will serve as a vehicle and metaphor for this important work.Want to teach your kids that giving is the best part of life? Join Roll Up N Dye at their spring fair for a day of fun with a theme of giving back. Photo booth, kids' races, tie-dying, sidewalk chalk drawing, face painting and so much more. Rain or shine. Check out their Facebook page and Website.
