Safe Solar Viewer (Again!)

Are you planning on viewing the Solar Eclipse (Monday, August 21, 2017)?  Are you traveling to view the total eclipse?  (Maryland is located outside the total eclipse zone.)  Avoid eye damage by using proper techniques during partial eclipse phases.

Join us at the MakerSpace this Sunday, August 6 from 10am to 2PM to make a Safe Solar Viewer.

We will be building a Safe Solar Viewer  with two lenses.  (The second lens is a Barlow lens; it will magnify and project the image of the sun.)  We’ve got boxes, spare binder clips, and lenses.  This is a child-friendly activity (although we will be cutting cardboard.)

A small donation to cover the cost of supplies would be warmly accepted.
