Soup Swap Friday

Come and try something new at MakerSpace: a Soup Swap!
When: Friday, February 26, 2016 at 6 pm
Where: Greenbelt MakerSpace, 125 Centerway in Greebelt’s Roosevelt Center
What: Soup Swap is a social, food-sharing event. You bring soup to share with others, and they bring soup to share with you!
How it works.
Before the event, you make up a big pot of a favorite homemade soup — enough to fill 6 plastic 1-quart containers. Then you fill the containers, label them with the name of soup and put them in the freezer until the day of the Swap.
On the day of the event, you bring your 6 quart containers of soup (still frozen) to MakerSpace. Other people will be there with their own frozen soup. Each participant describes their soup: what’s in it, if it’s vegetarian, if it’s spicy or mild, etc. This helps everyone decide what soups they want to try. By the end, everyone goes home with 6 different quarts of homemade soup.
It’s easy to participate and the payoff is wonderful! In the weeks afterward you will have convenient homemade food waiting for you in the freezer. Also: the recipes are emailed to all the participants, in case you want to try making one of the soups yourself.
Let us know you are coming by emailing Ellen Hoch at ellen.hoch@gmail.com.
