After two years in our wonderful space on the Roosevelt Center Plaza in Historic Old Greenbelt, we have a bad case of itchy feet. Join us in a crowd funded project to create a mobile makerspace van to enable us to reach out to more people…
We feel the need to get out and see more of our community and neighbors. A need fed by our desire to strengthen support of our mission, to excite neighborhoods to explore new projects powered by the fuel of science and technology, and to engage in hands-on activities in crafts both new and old. Computer science, cooking, microelectronics, sewing, 3D printing, woodkworking, robotics, and much more.
We want to bring our activities, fun and educational, to places like Schrom Hills Park and Springhill Lake Rec Center in Greenbelt. Because we know the busy roads and highways that divide the city also divide the opportunities to access our facility and join our family. But those same roads, we don’t need to tell you, can take us to our neighbors in Beltsville, Berwyn Heights, Riverdale, Lanham, College Park, and Bowie. We want to visit your community centers, churches, and schools.
We want to help kids learn core skills and teens prepare for college and jobs. We want to help entrepreneurs incubate and hatch their ideas into business opportunities. We want to help communities grow, gaining strength as individuals, families, and groups work toward common goals.
We will be launching a crowd funding project this Labor Day weekend. If you can help with planning the funding and/or working on the actual van conversion project, please contact us.
